Separation Services
Family Relationship Centres (FRCs)
Together, we'll find a way to help support healthy, happy relationships during and after separation.
Overview
Family Relationship Centres (FRCs) help families experiencing difficulties and change, and can assist through information, education, family dispute services and other specialised support services, and referrals.
Who are these Centres for?
FRCs offer services and programs to families at all stages of their life, including people starting relationships, those wanting to make their relationships stronger, those having relationship difficulties and those affected when families separate. FRCs encourage separating or separated parents to focus strongly on the needs and best interests of their children.
The Parent Session was excellent and gave me the information I needed for my son. I had seen a private psychologist in the past but the service at the FRC was much more useful.

How can I access FRCs?
No referral is required, and you may access the Family Relationship Centre either in person or by telephone. Clients are often referred to our service by lawyers, Courts, Centrelink, Child Support Agency or the Family Relationships Advice Line.
What do I need to know about FRCs?
FRCs offer individual and joint sessions to assist separating families to create workable parenting arrangements for their children. They also offer group information sessions and workshops on a range of practical topics to assist families.
All Centres work collaboratively with, and provide referrals to, a variety of other services, matching the needs of the family or individuals to appropriate services.
FRCs are funded by the Australian Government.
