The Stepfamily Realities workshop addresses key challenges that typically arise in a step or blended family setting. This workshop will equip you and your family with knowledge and tools that can help foster a family environment that is functional, warm, and inclusive for everyone involved.
Whether you have been in a stepfamily setting for years, or plan on starting one in the future, this workshop aims to support you in enhancing your family in a strengths-based and child-focused way
Who is this for?
This workshop is designed for couples in any stage of a step or blended family. You can also attend as an individual.
All genders, sexualities, ages (18+), and cultural backgrounds are welcome.
Dates & Times
Stepfamily Realities runs four terms a year, with each term lasting 3 weeks:
- Term 1: March 12th 2025 to March 26th 2025, on Wednesdays from 4.30pm to 7.30pm
- Term 2: June 4th 2025 to June 18th 2025, on Wednesdays from 4.30pm to 7.30pm
- Term 3: August 28th 2025 to September 10th 2025, on Wednesdays from 4.30pm to 7.30pm
- Term 4: November 12th 2025 to November 26th 2025, on Wednesdays from 4.30pm to 7.30pm
Cost
Standard: $180 per person ($60 per session) or $360 per couple
Upfront: $150 per person or $300 per couple – fee concession is available

- Beliefs and expectations about stepfamilies
- Understanding the stepfamily journey from confusion to stability
- Exploring roles within the family
- Creating structures and routines that acknowledge all family member’s needs
- Finding the needs underneath children’s behavior
- Enhancing relationship and communication skills
- Positive discipline techniques
- Developing healthy boundaries
- Creating new family traditions
- Managing ongoing change within the family
Information & Bookings
Stepfamily Realities is run from our Spring Hill venue; however, sessions are run via Zoom, so they are accessible to anyone, anywhere in Queensland.
