Free online training for gaming venue staff members to learn about gambling harm, connecting with patrons, betting exclusions, and more.
Overview
These free, online training courses teach venue staff how to support and protect clients, colleagues, and themselves in the instance of gambling harm.
Two courses are available:
1. Understanding Gambling Harm
This training is ideal for new staff, or as a refresher for existing staff.
It will cover three core modules:
- Understanding gambling harm
- Connecting with patrons
- Taking care of yourself.
2. Responding to Gambling Harm
This training is ideal for venue managers, CLOs, and senior staff.
It will cover three core modules:
- Beneath gambling harm
- Emotional intelligence
- Gambling and betting exclusions.
All training has been developed by Queensland’s Department of Justice (DoJ).
Dates & times
Training is offered on fortnightly Tuesdays. Please visit the registration form to see upcoming dates.
Morning and afternoon sessions are available.
Training is also available on-demand upon request.
