Overview

Our Savvy Seniors workshop focuses on empowering you to look after yourself and make informed decisions later in life. 

Who is this for?

This workshop is for those ages 60 and older (50 and older for First Nations Peoples), inclusive of diverse sexuality, gender, and cultural identity.

Topics

Legal Matters: Wills, Enduring Power of Attorney (EPOA), and Advanced Health Directives (February)
Learn how to make informed, safe decisions about legal matters including wills, EPOAs, responsibilities and advanced health directives.

Managing Your Finances, Retirement, and Preparing for Aged Care (March)
Gain confidence in managing your finances later in life. Learn practical strategies for budgeting, saving, and planning for retirement, while understanding the financial decisions that matter most as we age. We’ll also guide you through the complexities of the aged care system, helping you make informed choices for your future.

Safety for Seniors (April)
This workshop aims to increase awareness of personal and home safety strategies, provide practical tips to prevent scams and elder abuse, build confidence in accessing support services, and strengthen community connections for seniors.

Scams and Consumer Protection (May)
Learn how to recognise and avoid scams, to protect your consumer rights, and to keep your finances safe.

Legal Matters: Wills, Enduring Power of Attorney (EPOA), and Advanced Health Directives (June)
Learn how to make informed, safe decisions about legal matters including wills, EPOAs, responsibilities and advanced health directives.

Dates and Times

Courses run from 10.00 – 11:30 am, with each course focusing on a specific topic.
