Overview
We’re here to support First Nations people who want to understand the cycle of violence and its impact on others. By connecting to Country, culture, and kin, you can learn strategies for healthier relationships and become a safe role model for children and within the community.
There is no shame in wanting to learn how to stop using family violence and make a better life for you and your family.
Who is this service for?
We have separate counselling groups for men, women, and children.
Men
Are you hurting the people you love? Feeling no good about things that have happened in the past? If you’re ready to make a better life for you and your family and start your healing journey, Thriving Kinnections may be for you.
Women
Are you looking to connect with other women? Want to learn how to set boundaries and stop giving your power away? If you’re looking for a safe place for yarning, sharing stories, and healing, Thriving Kinnections may be for you.
Children
A Child and Youth Counsellor provides specialised counselling to children and youth affected by domestic violence, utilising targeted skills to support their recovery and well-being.
The first meeting was informative, and the counsellor was empathetic and understood the complexity of my situation. I left feeling very positive and looking forward to starting the course.

What do I need to know about Thriving Kinnections?
We provide a culturally safe, non-shaming space where you are supported to build emotional and mental strength and understand pathways to healing. We run weekly group sessions.
