Senior Relationship Services

Senior Financial Protection Service (SFPS)

Together, we’ll find a way to help seniors make safe, informed financial decisions
Overview

The Senior Financial Protection Service protects older people from financial abuse.

This free service offers information, education, and resources to help seniors and pensioners make informed financial decisions later in life.

Who is this service for?

We provide information and referral to anyone in the community, regardless of age.

This service provides case management for people ages 60 and up (or 50 and up for First Nations Peoples) in Queensland who may be experiencing financial abuse or who need guidance in making financial decisions.

My Senior Financial Protection Service case manager took the time to listen to me and help me sort out my bank statements. My son had been taking money from my account and refused to pay it back. My case manager helped me work out how much money was taken and changed my bank accounts. I was supported throughout my attempts of seeking resolution with my son and was referred to the Senior Mediation Support Service who arranged mediation and counselling for me. I so grateful there was a service who could help me find a path to resolution.
