Senior Social Connection Program (SSCP)

Together, we’ll find a way to help seniors build community connections and navigate ageing
Overview

The Senior Social Connection Program is a free program which supports older people to access a range of peer support and community-based activities.

This program aims to reduce social isolation and loneliness in older people.

Who is this service for?

The Senior Social Connection Program (SSCP) is for people ages 60 and over (or 50 and over for First Nations Peoples) in Gympie and the Sunshine Coast.

I’m writing on behalf of my wife and myself to express our thanks to Relationships Australia Queensland for the excellent Navigating Aged Care course.

It’s not often people combine excellent content knowledge and communication skills with a genuine concern for the group they’re working with.

Our teacher did this and clearly won the appreciation of the entire group.

Allowing 30 minutes following the formal part of the class so she could discuss individual concerns was an excellent feature, and she always had people keen to do this.

This is knowledge which we will all need as we grow older, and we are very appreciative of the efforts.
