The Telephone Dispute Resolution Service is a national, telephone-based family dispute resolution service that operates as a component of the Family Relationship Advice Line. The service operates between 8am and 8pm Monday to Friday and between 10am and 4pm on Saturdays (local times in all states and territories), excluding national public holidays. The Telephone Dispute Resolution Service is operated by Relationships Australia Queensland and is an initiative of the Australian Government and provides a child-focused, family dispute resolution service.
Referrals to the Telephone Dispute Resolution Service may be made after an initial assessment that your situation might benefit from family dispute resolution and that telephone is more appropriate than face-to-face as a mode of service delivery. Organisations able to refer include the Family Relationship Advice Line, Family Relationship Centres and other services funded under the Australian Governments’ Family Support Program.
Facilities are also available to participate in family dispute resolution online, providing access to a range of tools that can enhance telephone communication, including video-conferencing, document sharing and an electronic white-board. For more information about family dispute resolution or the Telephone Dispute Resolution Service, please contact your closest Family Relationship Centre or call the Family Relationship Advice Line on 1800 050 321.
